Availability does not confirm a space

Accommodation parking can mean a private garage, a small allocation of spaces, or simply a public facility nearby. Ask whether a space is confirmed for your booking or allocated on arrival. This matters particularly with a late check-in, when moving between the hotel and several garages would complicate the evening.

Obtain the entrance address. A hotel's postal address may lead to a pedestrian street or the wrong side of a one-way system. Establish whether you need to collect a code at reception first and where the car can wait while you do so. A space behind a barrier is not immediately useful if access must be collected inside and there is nowhere appropriate to stop outside.

Describe the vehicle you are bringing

Compare the stated clearance with the car as it will arrive, including anything mounted on the roof. A garage remains unsuitable if the vehicle fits only without its roof box. For a larger vehicle, entrance width, tight ramps, and the type of parking bay may also matter. Give the accommodation the actual configuration when asking.

For an electric car, parking and charging are separate services. Ask whether a charger can be reserved, how charging is paid for, and whether the car must be moved afterwards. A charging symbol on a booking page confirms neither a free socket at your arrival time nor access through the payment method you already use.

Street parking and a garage follow different arrangements

Vienna shows why free parking outside the building should not be a default assumption. The city describes extensive short-stay parking zones alongside other options for visitors. Check the rules at the actual address rather than treating an empty roadside space as permission to leave the car for several days.

Accommodation garages may have their own charging period. A calendar day, an overnight stay, and a continuous parking session are different models. A daily price also does not tell you whether repeated entry and exit are included. Resolve this before paying if you intend to take the car out during the trip.

Match parking to the final day

Does the permitted stay cover your departure plans? Checking out of the room in the morning does not necessarily allow the car to remain until evening. Agree any extension before leaving for a final walk, rather than inserting an avoidable garage change into the middle of the day.

Keep the parking confirmation, entrance address, and payment receipt together. One person can check the exit route while the other handles luggage and room checkout. Before driving towards the barrier, establish whether departure requires a paper ticket, number-plate recognition, or validation at reception. The useful outcome is a clear exit process and a charge you understand.
